Candidate Interviews for the Human Services Commission and the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Commission

There is currently an opening on the Human Services Commission, due to the resignation of Rachid Erekaini.
The press release advertising this opening was posted on July 9, 2025, and can be viewed at:
•Human Services Commission Seeks New Members Redmond, WA <https://www.redmond.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/2582>. Six applications were received and reviewed. Initial interviews were conducted and Shravani Salgaonkar was selected to move forward to interview with Mayor Birney on September 23, 2025.
There is currently an opening on the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Commission, due to the resignation of Praveen Rachakulla.
The press release advertising this opening was posted on August 18, 2025, and can be viewed at: <https://www.redmond.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/2628>. Eight applications were received and reviewed. Initial interviews were conducted and Kimberly Marcelino was selected to move forward to interview with Mayor Birney on September 22, 2025.
Staff is requesting Council interview Shravani Salgaokar and Kimberly Marcelino to fill these openings. The partial term for each position would expire on March 31, 2027.
