OUTCOMES:
The 4-year TIS strategy sets the high-level direction for the work TIS will complete, in partnership with other City departments. It represents not only the well-known Big4 projects, but also the strategic guardrails that guide TIS’s broader workplans. At the upcoming study session on 12/8/2020, TIS would like to hear any input Council might have on the presented strategy so that we may incorporate it into the final TIS 4 Year Strategic Framework document. The Strategic Framework will cover:
• Alignment with the 21-22 Budget - high-level projects
• Cloud Preferred - on the adoption of Public Cloud services
• Data Informed - how we process, surface, and use City data in decision making
• Customer Alignment - how we use tools and methods to align on projects
• Smart City Foundations - investments in and piloting of Smart City concepts
• Security and Compliance - keeping the City safe - assets, data, staff
TIS will also be working in 2021 and beyond to build out city metric dashboards that will provide transparency and insights into progress on the objectives and metrics relating to the 21-22 Budget Priorities and beyond. A Council Study Session on this is planned for early 2021, and again, TIS is seeking Council input on the topic so that we may incorporate it into our plans.
