Mutual Aid provided for Issaquah Police Department 911 Communications

OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

recommendation

The Issaquah Police Department 911 Communications Center no longer has sufficient staff to operate.  Issaquah Police provides 911 call-taking and dispatch services to Issaquah and the contract cities of Snoqualmie and North Bend.  Redmond Police Communications has agreed to provide mutual aid to Issaquah Police by hosting remaining Issaquah Police Communications personnel at the Redmond facility. Issaquah will continue to provide dispatch services as staffing allows and both cities will share responsibility for the answering of emergency calls.  The term of this agreement is 5 months (9/1/2021 - 1/31/2022) while Issaquah considers long term plans for their communications function.  Redmond is developing a long-term proposal to provide contract 911/dispatch services for Issaquah’s consideration.
