OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
recommendation
The City Council will consider the adoption of a resolution updating the Planning Commission Rules of Procedure and an ordinance amending RMC 4.43.080 in accordance with the Planning Commission recommendation provided in Attachment A.
The Planning Commission Rules of Procedure were last updated in August 2022. Since this date, the Council Clerk’s Office has drafted rules that have created a standard and consistency across all boards and commission and addressed the following:
• Relationship between the Planning Commission and City Council,
• Lobbying,
• Public participation, and
• Records
The Planning Commission then made edits to the standardized rules the Clerk’s office prepared and recommended additional edits related to attendance. If the Council adopts the Commission’s recommendation on changes to attendance this will not impact the rules for other boards and commissions and will only apply to the Planning Commission.
