III. DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND
The terms of the following commissioners will expire on March 31, 2019. These commissioners have expressed a desire to be reappointed for another term to continue their work. They are valuable members of their respective commissions, and I highly recommend their reappointments.
Arts and Culture Commission
Savita Krishnamoorthy New Term to Expire March 31, 2022
Human Services Commission
Shawn Roland New Term to Expire March 31, 2023
Parks and Trails Commission
Gregg Gottgetreu New Term to Expire March 31, 2023
Planning Commission
Roy Captain New Term to Expire March 31, 2023
Additionally, two vacancies exist on the Human Services Commission due to the resignations of JoEllen Watson and Sue Stewart. I recommend that Vibhas Chandorkar and Kristen Muscott be appointed to the Human Services Commission. They are highly qualified, and I believe they will be excellent additions to the Commission. Mr. Chandorkar would complete JoEllen Watson’s term, and Ms. Muscott would complete Sue Stewart’s term, both of which expire on March 31, 2021.
IV. PREVIOUS DISCUSSIONS HELD
The Redmond City Council interviewed and appointed Ms. Krishnamoorthy, Mr. Roland, Mr. Gottgetreu, and Mr. Captain to their first terms of their respective commissions.
The Redmond City Council interviewed Mr. Chandorkar on March 12, 2019, and Ms. Muscott on March 19, 2019.

VI. ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATION
The Redmond City Council could choose not to confirm the reappointments and new appointments, in which case, the Mayor would need to interview candidates for the open seats.
