The Redmond City Council has ground rules for the preliminary budget deliberations process. Council reviewed and discussed these ground rules during the June and July 2026 FAC meetings and wishes to adopt the rules to formalize them and support accountability in the budget process.

Time Constraints:
Council wishes to adopt the Council Ground Rules for 2027-2028 Preliminary Budget Deliberations prior to budget presentations and Council budget deliberations scheduled for fall 2026.
ANTICIPATED RESULT IF NOT APPROVED:
If Council does not adopt the Council Ground Rules for 2027-2028 Preliminary Budget Deliberations, the budget presentations and deliberations sessions will proceed as scheduled, and Council can still follow the rules, but the rules will not be formally adopted.
