OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Award a construction contract to CDK Construction Services, Inc. of Duvall, WA, in the amount of $1,944,729 for construction of Fire Station 16 and Maintenance Facility Building Seismic Upgrade project (Project Number 60021819).
Approve Consultant Services Agreement Supplement No. 3 with Reid Middleton in the amount of $149,854 for construction engineering support services and increase the maximum amount payable under this contract to $810,502.
Accept a FEMA grant award for the Fire Station 16 and Maintenance Facility construction phase up to a maximum amount of $2,442,862. We are currently waiting to receive the final grant contract for signature by the City. We expect it to arrive within the next 10 days. We have already been notified of the grant award and would ask council to authorize the mayor to sign it if the agreement is what we are expecting in terms of the dollar amount and attached conditions.
Increase the City’s contribution to the project budget by $21,499 (General Fund).

Time Constraints:
Award of bid must occur within 45 days of bid opening or the contractor may withdraw their bid. Bids were opened on March 10; award must occur by April 24.
ANTICIPATED RESULT IF NOT APPROVED:
Project construction would not move forward, and fire station and maintenance building would not be protected from a seismic event.
FEMA Grant funds would be forfeited.
