OUTCOMES:

The City of Redmond provides School Resource Officer services to the Lake Washington School District.  The City and District agree to assign one SRO to provide school-specific services, with the option to add additional SROs as staffing allows. The School Resource Officers will act as a law enforcement resource, maintain the peace on school district property, and provide law enforcement education, and support services as requested and mutually agreed upon. The LWSD is moving all SRO contracts to a “community based” model, whereby officers are assigned to geographical areas, not to a specific school. Redmond has participated in this model since 2021 and have found it to best meet the needs of the LWSD and the City.
