Commission Candidate Interviews
OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

There is currently an opening on the Parks, Trails and Recreation Commission, due to the resignation of Stuart Hargreaves. The press release advertising this opening was posted on August 14, 2026, and can be viewed at: •City Seeks New Parks, Trails, and Recreation Commissioner Redmond, WA <https://www.redmond.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/3043>. After initial interviews, Jenni Baldwin was selected to move forward. Jenni Baldwin was interviewed by Mayor Birney and has been recommended to move on to a Council interview.
There is currently an opening on the Planning Commission, due to the resignation of Denice Gagner. The press release advertising this opening was posted on August 6, 2026, and can be viewed at: •Redmond Seeks New Planning Commission Member Redmond, WA <https://www.redmond.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/3027>. After initial interviews, Zixuan Huang was selected to move forward. Zixuan Huang was interviewed by Mayor Birney and has been recommended to move on to a Council interview.
Staff is requesting Council interview Jenni Baldwin and Zixuan Huang to fill these openings. The terms for each would expire on March 31, 2028.
