OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

There are two vacancies on the Arts and Culture Commission, due to the term expirations of Angie Hinojos and Savita Krishnamoorthy.

 

The press release advertising these vacancies was posted on January 24, 2022, and can be viewed at: News Release: Redmond Seeks Volunteers for Arts and Culture Commission (govdelivery.com) <https://content.govdelivery.com/bulletins/gd/WAREDMOND-305c080?wgt_ref=WAREDMOND_WIDGET_2>. Eleven applications were received and reviewed. Redmond Arts and Culture members interviewed candidates on March 8, 2022 and selected two finalists, Shama Farag and Carlos Jimenez. Both finalists were interviewed by Mayor Birney on March 14, 2022, and by the Council on March 22, 2022. They have been nominated for appointment, subject to Council confirmation.

 

Shama Farag would fill the vacancy left by Angie Hinojos, and Carlos Jimenez would fill the vacancy left by Savita Krishnamoorthy.
