MOC Project Update: Validation Summary and Recommendation

Public Works/Parks/Planning are providing an update on the Maintenance and Operations Center (MOC) - Campus Redevelopment Project, Project No. 2501, following completion of the Validation Phase.
The update will summarize the Validation Phase outcomes, present the path forward, and confirm alignment as the project transitions into the Design phase.

This effort is part of the regular updates Public Works/Parks/Planning are providing on the progress for the MOC project.
OUTCOMES:
The outcome is continued alignment on budget and citywide policies, with clear visibility into when Council input or action may be needed. This provides Council an opportunity to ensure the project continues to reflect policy direction while allowing the project team to advance the work between decision points.
COMMUNITY/STAKEHOLDER OUTREACH AND INVOLVEMENT:
• Timeline (previous or planned):
A Communication Plan is in place for the project, developed collaboratively with the City’s Communications team. The MOC CIP project webpage was also updated following the Heidelberg property purchase. As the project transitions into Design, the team will roll out the project to MOC staff in coordination with the Communications team. The team is also coordinating content for an upcoming Mayor’s weekly newsletter to provide a broader project update.
