Earth Day and Arbor Day Activities
OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
recommendation
In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, the Redmond community is coming together all month long with events and initiatives that advance sustainability and environmental stewardship. Community members can participate in numerous programs, including:
• Solarize Eastside - community members interested in solar, but not sure where to start can join the Solarize campaign. This campaign will run through July 4 and makes solar energy more accessible and affordable for Eastside homeowners and businesses. Sign up for a free solar assessment <https://olysol.org/solarize/eastside/>, or join the next Solarize workshop on May 7 to learn more <https://olysol.org/events/>.
• Arbor Week activities - the City of Redmond is celebrating Arbor Week from April 21-27, 2025, featuring a calendar of events and activities that reinforces Redmond's commitment to urban forestry, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. This year's programming includes lots of opportunities to get out in nature and re-planting several evergreens following the November 2024 bomb cyclone that resulted in the loss of several large trees at Anderson Park. Learn more <https://www.redmond.gov/1725/Earth-Month-2025>.
• Fix-It Clinic - join Redmond neighbors at the Redmond Senior and Community Center for a hands-on opportunity to repair household items. This saves community members money and reduces waste sent to the landfill.
