Acceptance of Funds and Addition of the Overlake Area Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements Project to the CIP, and Removal of the 148th Ave Trail Project from the CIP
OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
recommendation
WSDOT has awarded the City $8,000,000 in Move Ahead Washington (MAWA) funds for the Overlake Area Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements Project. This project will construct a shared use path on 148th Ave from NE 31st St to NE 40th Street, and bike lanes on NE 36th Street from 148th Ave to the 520 Trail (the scope of this project was previously for the construction of a new pedestrian bridge over Hwy 520 along 148th Ave, titled 148th Ave Trail - 520 to NE 24th St). This request is to accept funds from WSDOT and add the project into the City's Capital Investment Program, and to remove the 148th Ave Trail project from the CIP, which was originally funded with these dollars.
