Parks, Arts, Recreation, Culture, and Conservation (PARCC) Plan Update

OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
recommendation
Development of the PARCC Plan includes three main pillars: the community need assessment; analysis of current system performance; and the development of future project lists. Previous study sessions provided information about the community outreach methods, level of service and the current conditions of our parks and recreation. This update will look at how the third pillar of future project lists is being developed and progress towards completing the PARCC Plan which is seeking adoption in Q2 of 2023.

The PARCC Plan is updated every six years to remain in compliance with the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO). The PARCC Plan update will be brought forward for adoption in Q2 of 2023. The PARCC plan is also being updated in coordination with Redmond 2050.

OUTCOMES:
Staff has reviewed public outreach, existing project lists, and community needs to begin developing potential projects to be a part of the near term, midterm, and long-term projects in the PARCC Plan. Beyond projects, staff will develop a list of recommended programs and policies to be implemented after the adoption of the PARCC Plan.
