King County Extreme Heat Mitigation Strategy Overview
OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The 2024 King County Extreme Heat Mitigation Strategy is a regional strategy that outlines 20 coordinated actions to prepare communities for hotter summers and extreme heat events. Developed collaboratively with local governments, community groups, and partners, the strategy enhances existing emergency response efforts while also delivering co-benefits like lower emissions, improved health, environmental quality, and community capacity. Staff from King County's Executive Climate Office will provide an overview of the Strategy and how County and local governments are working together to advance actions to increase community resilience.
