Adoption of the City of Redmond Safer Streets Action Plan
OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
recommendation
Redmond received USDOT Safe Streets for All (SS4A) funding through an agreement between the City and the Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC). With this funding, the City is developing a Safer Streets Action Plan based on the Safe System Approach. Establishing a Safer Streets Action Plan is necessary to apply for additional SS4A funding that can be used to fund a wide range of safety activities. The Safer Streets Action Plan develops safety improvement projects throughout the City and facilitates upcoming applications for safety grant funding. The draft Safer Streets Action Plan was published on February 24, 2025, for community review and feedback. Staff presented the final Safer Streets Action Plan that incorporates community feedback to Council Committee of the Whole on April 1, 2025. Staff anticipates Council's final approval of the completed Safer Streets Action Plan at the April 15, 2025, Business Meeting.
