Adoption of a Resolution for the 2025 Environmental Sustainability Action Plan

a. Resolution No. 1616: A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Redmond, Washington, Adopting the 2025-2030 Environmental Sustainability Action Plan

OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
recommendation
In March 2025, the City of Redmond began the update to the 2020 Environmental Sustainability Action Plan (ESAP) to prioritize actions for the next five years to keep Redmond on track towards climate and sustainability goals. The final 2025 ESAP (Attachment A) is the product of four formal nonprofit partnerships, more than 500 in person community members engaged and 1,000 digital impressions, robust climate analysis, and deep alignment with the renewed community vision identified through Redmond 2050.

The 2025 ESAP is structured around five Big Moves to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase resilience to climate impacts. 63 actions are prioritized to implement over the next five years. The updated plan keeps the Redmond community on track towards carbon neutrality by 2050.
