This is the first draft presentation and overview of Police and Fire Functional Plans. Staff will provide an overview and seek Council questions. The Department welcomes questions and requests the Council receives information, before this item is routed to COW - Public Safety (May 17) and Council Business Meeting (June 7 or 21).

OUTCOMES:
These plans guide how to prioritize public safety capital investments, personnel, equipment, and services across functional areas to implement Redmond's vision as described in the Comprehensive Plan. Several benefits are derived from periodic updates aside from the practical matter of ensuring that the plan stays relevant and continues to prove its worth as an interface for planning, budgeting, investment, and strategic action.
A Note about the Police Functional Plan: The first Police Functional Plan was completed in 2014 and spanned to 2030, and addressed the goals of achieving standards of service, performance measures, development of professional relationships, training and equipment, community outreach, and technology.
