III. DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND
This agreement allows the City of Redmond Police Department to provide and receive necessary mutual aid assistance to Pacific Northwest Emergency Management Arrangement (PNEMA) participants (currently the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, the Canadian Province of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory) under the direction of the Washington State Military Department of Emergency Management Division. It is an ongoing agreement that can be terminated by either party upon a 30-day prior written notice.

This agreement was presented to the Public Safety Committee on May 15, 2018
V. IMPACT
A. Service/Delivery:
This agreement would allow the Washington State Military Department through its Emergency Management Division, and the City of Redmond Police Department to authorize and direct the deployment of certain necessary mutual aid between the EMAC participants, who are currently all fifty states, Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.
B. Fiscal Note:
The Military Department will reimburse the City of Redmond for the expenses of authorized resources deployed under this Agreement per the Federal General Services Administration (GSA) rates for the applicable deployment location existing at the time of deployment.
