OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

This memorandum introduces a group of documents referred to as the Overlake Village Light Rail Station Agreements that City Council is being asked to approve. Agreements include:
1) Overlake Village Light Rail Station Operations and Maintenance Agreement
2) Second Amendment to the Transit Way Agreement
A more detailed memorandum has been provided for each agreement. No action is proposed in this introductory memorandum.

The Overlake Village light rail station site that Sound Transit is building includes interrelated Sound Transit and City of Redmond infrastructure. Redmond paid Sound Transit to build two projects on the site, the Overlake Village Pedestrian Bicycle Bridge and the Overlake Village Stormwater Infiltration Vault, benefiting both the station and the surrounding transportation and stormwater systems. In addition, Sound Transit will dedicate the DaVinci Avenue roadway and right of way to the City. This roadway provides access to the station and will also include Sound Transit elements adjacent to, and within, the right of way. Together, Redmond and Sound Transit are partnering to construct, operate, and maintain, a station site that maximizes multimodal transportation use and stormwater function.
