* Other Key Facts:
Redmond Municipal Code (RMC) Chapter 1.14, Enforcement and Penalties, addresses many of the issues raised around illegal tree removal penalties. This chapter allows for some leniency for first time offenders, as well as the ability to increase penalties based on unique circumstances, such as repeat offenders. Staff's suggestion is to amend the ability to establish tree value within RZC 21.72.110 and reconcile that with an amendment to RMC 1.14 that specifically addresses enforcement and penalties related to illegal tree removal.
OUTCOMES:
The proposed language addresses Council's concern regarding the seriousness of illegal tree removal.
