The City of Redmond has been awarded the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services (VSHSL) grant extension in the amount of $99,225 from King County. This grant will fund the Senior Lunch Program at The Redmond Senior & Community Center from 1/1/2027 until 12/31/2027. The previous grant award for this program will end on 12/31/2026.
Approval of this item authorizes the Mayor or designee to execute the $99,225 VSHSL grant agreement extension with King County.

OUTCOMES:
The City of Redmond supports its older adult population by providing the senior lunch program at the Redmond Senior & Community Center three days a week, year-round. The Senior Lunch Program serves approximately 200 weekly meals to older adults, aged 50+ ensuring access to nutritious meals while fostering meaningful social interaction and community connection. Lunch days serve as a vital point of engagement for many participants, helping to reduce senior isolation and often acting as a gateway to other programs and services offered at the center.
