Approval of a Consultant Agreement with Wagner Architects & Planners, in the Amount of $224,988, for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Improvements Facilities Project 1
OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

This consultant agreement with Wagner Architects & Planners in the amount of $224,988 is for design for the ADA Improvements Facilities Project 1, Project No. 2402. Approving this action will help the City address deficiencies and ensure ADA compliance at its facilities, as outlined in the 2021 ADA Title II Transition Plan - Parks Facilities.
This initial agreement includes the cost of the design phase. Future supplemental agreements will be for the construction phase and may include construction administration services. The ADA Transition Plan - Park Facilities identified 1,250 barriers across 23 facilities and established priorities for their removal. While it serves as a high-level roadmap, it does not provide specific design solutions or detailed cost estimates for overcoming these barriers.
The first phase will target a select group of prioritized buildings and barriers to develop actionable solutions and more precise cost estimates. This will ensure that City programs and services are accessible to all citizens, regardless of their abilities.
The total funding for this Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is $1.5 million, with $300,000 allocated annually over five years. This is a long-term program rather than a one-time project.
