Adoption of Resolution to Sell Surplus Real Estate
Resolution No. XXXX: A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Redmond, Washington, Declaring Certain Real Property Commonly Known as Pacer Propane, 18459 NE 76th Street, to be Surplus to the Needs of the City and Authorizing The Mayor or Her Designee to Facilitate the Sale of Such Surplus Property

OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
recommendation
The City of Redmond has determined that a real property asset at 18459 NE 76th Street, known as the Pacer Propane property, is surplus to the needs of the City. The property was purchased for temporary use by the Public Works and Parks Departments in support of the revitalization of the City’s Maintenance and Operations Center (MOC).

After consideration of three options for redeveloping the MOC, the City pivoted from a plan to complete the reconstruction of the facility on the existing site to construct a facility at a vacant property. The City, through Council action, purchased a property, located on Union Hill Road, formerly owned by Heidelberg Materials. With the acquisition of the Heidelberg property, the need for temporary real property to maintain MOC operational service levels is no longer necessary, and the Pacer Propane property is deemed surplus to the project.

In order to move forward with advertising the sale of the property, the City Council needs to approve a resolution authorizing the Mayor or her designee to facilitate the sale of the surplus property.
