III. DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

Perrigo Park was constructed in 2004. The project installed over 230,000 square feet of turf which allowed Perrigo Park play fields to be available twelve months out of the year. The synthetic turf fields are a major component of Perrigo Park becoming one of the City's most visited recreational facilities.

On June 20, 2017, the City Council approved the procurement bidding services with King County Directors Association (KCDA) for the Perrigo Park Turf Replacement project. Subsequently, KCDA awarded the contract to FieldTurf USA, the lowest responsible bidder for the base bid amount of $2,053,999.96, including sales tax. The project is now physically complete. During the progress of the project there was decreases to the base bid in the amount of $6,542.77, for a total final contract amount of $2,047,457.19 .
