III.                     DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

The Strategic Plan Identified Technology Information Services (TIS) as an integral part of developing and proactively facilitating the needs of a “City of the Future”.  To achieve this, the TIS strategy is focused around three key themes:

Stabilization - ensuring TIS has a solid platform of core systems and processes upon which we can build.

Modernization - adoption of up-to-date tools, solutions, and processes that support the City’s business.

Innovation - progressing leading-edge investments that reflect a future-leaning city.

The City’s 2019-20 Budget integrated TIS through multiple budget offers to support the business sectors, functions and processes.

The discussion at the study session will focus on the TIS organizational structure, the integration and synchronization of systems to support city operations and an overview of the 2019 TIS project portfolio.
