III.                     DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

 

At the June 11, 2019, City Council study session, Briahna Murray, the City’s State Lobbyist, will provide an overview of the 2019 Legislative Session, an update on how the City fared on its top priority 2019 legislative issues, and identify upcoming issues. 

 

The City’s top priority legislative issues for the 2019 legislative session were: 

                     Affordable Housing

                     Homelessness, Mental Health, Drug Dependency, and Human Services

                     Fund and Safeguard State Revenues and Local Options to Better Enable Cities to Address Community Needs

                     Hartman Pool Improvements

                     Support Association of WA Cities and Sound Cities Association Legislative Efforts

 

The City’s 2019 State Legislative Agenda is included in Attachment A.  The presentation that will be provided to Council is included in Attachment B.  The City of Redmond 2019 Legislative Session Comprehensive Report, prepared by Briahna Murray, is included in Attachment C.

 

IV.                     PREVIOUS DISCUSSIONS HELD

 

City Council meeting with District 48 and 45 Legislators on January 8, 2019, to discuss the City’s 2019 Legislative Agenda and top priority issues.
