I. RECOMMENDED ACTION

Approve the final contract amount with Olson Brothers Excavating, Inc. of Puyallup, Washington, for the base bid amount of $ 537,430, plus or minus change orders and bid items increase or decreases, resulting in a final contract amount of $ 498,622.09 and accept construction of Mackey Creek Restoration project, City project No. 20021402 as of
June 18, 2019.

III. DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND
Project Purpose
The constructed project provided enhancement to Mackey Creek and its associated riparian and wetland habitat.
This project re-aligned approximately 700 lineal feet of the main stem of Mackey Creek and stabilized the Creek with large woody materials and habitat boulders thus encouraging formation of habitat features along the main stem and throughout the creek.
Project Description
Construction of Mackey Creek project began in August 20, 2018 and was substantially completed on October 22, 2018. Mackey Creek project was under Contract suspension on November 2, 2018 to allow for seed, fertilizer, and mulch work to be done during the allowed working dates for application. Mackey Creek project reached physical completion in April 29, 2019. The construction time frame was within the allotted days specified in the contract.
