III. DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

At the Study Session, staff will be presenting the Community Strategic Plan (plan), community outcomes, and the financial forecast. Council has requested that the plan and forecast be presented together on a quarterly basis.

Council went through a process from November 2018 through April 2019 to develop the Community Strategic Plan. The draft plan has been shared with the community for feedback collected between July 8, 2019, and August 6, 2019. It was promoted via eNews, Social Media, Derby Days, Redmond.gov, and Let'sConnectRedmond (online community feedback platform). There were 488 unique visits to the project page on Let'sConnectRedmond, 153 visitors downloaded the document and 33 completed the survey. Staff will also discuss the progress to date on the 2019-2020 key deliverables identified in the plan for each the five focus areas: Housing Choices, Environmental Sustainability, Infrastructure (TIS & Capital), and Cultural Inclusion.
