III. DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND
The City Council will be given an overview of growth in the Downtown and Overlake Urban Centers. The briefing will be provided through the lens of the Growth Management Act and Redmond’s Comprehensive Planning process which is intended to preserve Redmond’s single-family neighborhoods, focus growth in Redmond’s two urban centers and create a range of transportation and housing choices. The presentation will also highlight efforts that are underway to prepare for the next periodic Comprehensive Plan update as a preface to the September 10, 2019 Council Study Session on Puget Sound Regional Council’s Draft Vision 2050 Plan.
