III. DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND
At its October 15, 2019, business meeting, Council adopted the Community Strategic Plan (CSP). The CSP is a culmination of the following work:
* Council's prioritization of key themes at its March 7, 2019, retreat
* Council feedback
* Community input and feedback
The Community Strategic Plan provides the work plan for the City and strategically advances the City's vision and the outcomes established in the City's long-range plans.
Community feedback and input were gathered as part of the development of the Community Strategic Plan, and opportunities for continued community involvement are being provided through each of the key elements of the plan. There has been continued progress on the key deliverables of the plan in each of the focus areas:
* Housing Choices
* Environmental Sustainability
* Technology & Information Services Infrastructure
* Cultural Inclusion / Welcoming
* Infrastructure
In support of the ongoing development of the City's strategic planning efforts, the City conducted its annual citywide survey. In addition, there has been an online survey and focus groups. These efforts have been conducted with the support of EMC Consulting. EMC will share with Council the results of the survey to help inform Council on the future direction of the Community Strategic Plan, which will be discussed at the Council retreat on January 25, 2020.
