III.                     DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

 

Project Purpose

The purpose of this project was to reduce congestion by adding a right turn lane and complete a bicycle lane connection from the SR 520 Trail to the Microsoft campus as part of the Community Facility District 2016-1 mobility improvements.

                     Project Description

This project widened NE 31st Street to the south to add a new eastbound right turn lane at 156th Avenue NE intersection and bicycle lanes from the 36th Street Bridge to 156th Avenue NE.

V.                     IMPACT

 

A.                     Service/Delivery:

 

Improved traffic flow by building eastbound right turn lane at the intersection of NE 31st Street and 156th Avenue.  In addition, completed bicycle lanes on corridor from SR 520 Trail over the NE 36th Street Bridge to the Microsoft campus.

VII.                     TIME CONSTRAINTS

 

Following project acceptance, in accordance with RCW 60.28, the contract retainage will be released upon receipt of clearances from the Washington State Departments of Revenue and Labor and Industries, and a mandatory 45-day waiting period for filing claims and liens.
