Draft City of Redmond 2021 State Legislative Agenda
OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
recommendation
The Council reviewed the Draft City of Redmond 2021 State Legislative Agenda during the November 2, 2020, Parks and Human Services Committee of the Whole meeting. Council requested follow-up on one item - staff review of the 2021 WA Low Income Housing Alliance Legislative Agenda. Their 2021 Legislative Agenda will not be adopted until later this year and will likely include support for $250 million for the Housing Trust Fund, $100 Document Recording Fee increase, tenant protections, and progressive revenue. Staff propose adding to the City's Draft Legislative Agenda priority of "Affordable Housing and Homelessness" funding (in addition to local option tools) and policies and programs to ensure residents remain housed, to reflect the full array of legislative solutions available to address these issues.
