OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Request for Bid Award

Staff recommends awarding contract to CDK Construction Services, Inc., the low bidder. The bidders’ unit prices, extensions, and additions have been checked for accuracy and for unbalanced bid items. References for CDK Construction Services, Inc. have been contacted and were found to be satisfactory. A bid summary is attached.

Supplement Agreement for Construction Management Services

The proposed Supplement Agreement No. 3 with Reid Middleton will cover construction management services for oversight of construction for Stations 14 and 18. The amount of this supplement, with contingency, will not exceed $151,762. This amount is included in the total project cost of $4,500,000.

ANTICIPATED RESULT IF NOT APPROVED:

Council could choose to not award the contract; however, this would result in King County Fire Protection District No. 34 being unable to complete the seismic upgrade for Stations 14 and 18.
