Opportunity to brief Council on project status in advance of seeing an approval of bid contract in March 2021. 

 

 

OUTCOMES:

The overall park project will increase the parks use and community benefit by making it useable year around with picnic shelter, pathways, improved drainage and nature play elements.

                     Timeline (previous or planned):

Community outreach for the Westside Park Master Plan occurred in late 2019 and early 2020, including three open houses.  The community outreach defined the layout of the park, but not the details we are discussing today.

Survey around preferred outcomes.

                     Feedback Summary:

Community was interested in seeing nature play, trail connections/wayfinding, improved sports court and a more useable lawn area.

Time Constraints:

We are working to define as many items as possible to minimize delays when the project goes to bid and construction. This will enable the park to open on schedule in the fall of 2021.
