OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

recommendation

Staff seeks Council’s approval to allow an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) between City of Kirkland and City of Redmond to allow Kirkland to provide sewer service for an existing single-family home located on Parcel 123750-0460.  Approval of the ILA will:

 

                     Authorize sewer service by City of Kirkland to a home located within City of Redmond.

 

                     Authorize the Mayor to sign the Interlocal Agreement with Kirkland to allow temporary sewer service to the Andrzej property.

 

                     Authorize the Mayor to sign the Utility Service Agreement with the property owner to document requirements associated with the connection.

OUTCOMES:

Approval of the ILA allows the applicant to connect to the existing Kirkland sewer main in N.E. 132nd Street, while maintaining the home as a Redmond Customer.  Doing so will allow the existing home to be occupied.

Time Constraints:

Mr. Andrzej would like get authorization to connect to City services as soon as possible as the home is currently not habitable due to the failure of the septic system.

 

 

ANTICIPATED RESULT IF NOT APPROVED:

The City of Kirkland would not provide sewer service and the home will not be habitable until Redmond sewer is available.
