Solid Waste and Recycling Program Overview
OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
recommendation
Provide an update to Council on the City’s programmatic actions related to solid waste and recycling. The Solid Waste and Recycling Team will provide an overview presentation to Council on program elements including additional resources available to residents as we’ve transitioned from large City-sponsored recycling events.
Nearly all the recyclable material formerly accepted at City sponsored recycling events is readily recyclable at other locations. For those items that are not taken locally, such as Styrofoam and shredded paper, the City is developing standalone collection options. Attachment A includes a comprehensive list of where items that were formerly accepted at City events can be recycled along with additional details about resources available to residents.
