King County INET (Institutional Network) Contract Renewal

OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

recommendation

The existing King County INET (Institutional Network) contract was approved in 2017 for 3 years and recently expired this past August. King County INET provides Internet and network access for approximately 300 public facilities within King County.  These include local and county buildings, school districts, libraries, and fire district stations.  We are proposing to renew the contract with King County INET to maintain the City's current level of services. These services include access to the Internet in the event our primary Internet service provider is down along with providing network connectivity to Washington State Patrol for Police, Medic 35 in Woodinville, and Microsoft Azure Cloud.
