Approve Consultant Agreements for Public Works On-Call Engineering Services with BHC Consultants, LLC and HDR Engineering, Inc., in an amount not-to-exceed $1,000,000 each over the next two years, and authorize the Mayor to sign the agreements.

III. DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND

The purpose of these two Consultant Agreements is to support the City at times of peak workload with water / wastewater / stormwater utilities and transportation engineering services. Increased work demand is anticipated with Sound Transit's "Downtown Redmond Link Extension" and Microsoft's "Campus Refresh" development projects. The selected consultants have experience working within Redmond's community. They have an understanding and working knowledge of Redmond's codes, Standard Specifications and Details, Water/Sewer Design Requirements, Stormwater Technical Notebook, and the Illumination and Traffic Signal Design Manuals.

The Consultant Agreements will be for a performance period of two years with the option to extend for one year. Their schedule, personnel and team will be negotiated by individual Task Orders specific to the work required. The City does not guarantee a specific volume of work or total contract amount to each of the consultants.
