OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Requesting approval for consultant agreement with David Evans and Associates in the amount of $769,000 for engineering services for design and property rights acquisition. We are also requesting approval to obtain necessary property rights for the project.

REQUEST RATIONALE:

* Relevant Plans/Policies:
This project is identified in the Transportation Master Plan.
* Required:
RCW 39.80 and City Purchasing Policies and Procedures requires Council authorization for the Mayor to sign the contract.
* Council Request:
N/A
* Other Key Facts:
This is a high priority non-motorized transportation project given its proximity to the Main Microsoft Campus and the Redmond Technology Light Rail Station which are both large generators and attractors for pedestrian and bicycle trips. This project will be coordinated with similar improvements being constructed by Microsoft as part of the East Campus Refresh Project. In addition, there is Sound Transit light rail access grant funding for construction of this project.


OUTCOMES:
This project will connect into a segment of the 156th Ave NE Corridor that Microsoft will construct from NE 31st Street to NE 36th Street as part of the East Campus Refresh project. When both the City and Microsoft projects are completed there will be a continuou...
